Flipping

This year is whizzing by at break neck speed - May already!.  It seems before I know it I am flipping over to a new month on my calender.  Before long it'll be time to keep an eye out for next years' and attend to transferring the special dates and anniversaries.

I love a good calender and find that beauty and form definitely must match it with function!

Some months I get really attached to the page, my scribblings on it, the image and lament losing it.  Other months, less enamoured I  flip thrilled to reveal an unexpected beauty. With each flip I feel a mixture of things...sometimes renewal - a new month ahead with plans, other flips I fear how quickly the days are passing.

I loved April - so fresh and pretty!

I was disappointed at first  with May.. but it's grown on me!  All wintry in palette.

So the tending of the family calender is definitely one of those rituals that happens here with reflection and enjoyment.  It's the simple things..

Getting amongst it!

I've imagined blog posts in my mind for a while now.  Jotted down ideas and notes, toyed with possibilities, names, post ideas - all discarded.  Discarded because - what do I have to say of note... really?  Then it hit me (driving home from the school run...it's amazing the things that I ponder on the way home), it doesn't really matter what I write and whether it's incredibly noteworthy or not, it's what I may get out of this journey that will matter.  If only I start :)

I am a daily blog reader.  Drawing inspiration and perspective from many very talented, honest and generous bloggers.  I read mainly mummy and design blogs and I have been gobsmacked at how many times the writer seems to be inside my head....living and breathing the same pleasures, conundrums and daily rituals.  This is incredibly comforting and invigorating and it is something that I want to get amongst!

I am hoping that this blog will awaken the sleeping creative Jane and allow her to play in the delights of mothering, homemaking, baking, writing and photo taking.
